Introduction to Hydrogen in the Energy Transition and the Role of Pipelines (CS053A)

Introduction to Hydrogen in the Energy Transition and the Role of Pipelines

Pipelines transporting hydrogen are a part of the world’s ‘energy transition’ initiative to tackle climate change. This e-learn course outlines the minimum necessary principles, concepts, practices, problems, challenges, and technical parameters involved in the role of these transmission pipelines in the energy transition and technical, design, operation, and integrity management issues.

By completing this Introduction to Hydrogen in the Energy Transition e-learn course, you will be aware of the reasons for hydrogen pipelines, the basic properties of hydrogen, and its transportation and storage. You will also be able to understand the different types of hydrogen and their production and have an awareness of the basic design and issues faced with hydrogen pipelines.

This technical course was created by Dr Phil Hopkins. It has been designed to offer you awareness of areas related to pipeline integrity management and can be studied as part of your learning journey or as a reference library.
